Flinders – Native Wetland

The garden on this 30 acre property is dug down into a hole in the landscape.  The large cutting meant that we dig down to sub soil clay, and required a huge amount  of drainage, both sub soil and surface.  Gabions assisted in this process allowing the water to disperse and filter through the wall, and then water the garden on the other side with drainage at the front rather than the rear of the wall.   Andrew Laidlaw designed this native garden.
